Nadi - days 1 to 3

Wednesday, November 21 – Nadi – days 1 – 3
Today is our third day at the Outrigger on the Lagoon at Sigatoka, on the Coral Coast of Fiji. We are actually 66 km from Nadi. It has been very relaxing here and we are getting pampered with all the food and fun. Although there are lots of events here at the resort, as well as various excursions off the property, we are just taking it easy and regenerating a bit.
On Monday we basically stayed in our room and watched TV and read, as the weather was quite overcast with showers. We had a full buffet breakfast at one of the open air restaurants on site. Then we went out to the same restaurant around 6:30 for dinner, which was very good. We actually shared an order of BBQ ribs with baked potatoe, and an order of steamed vegetables. There was more than enough food for both of us.
Tuesday, we got a little more social. The sun came out and we again had a buffet breakfast, but this time we only had the continental. Again, it was more than enough. I had cereal, fruit, coffee, and lots of raisin toast and pastries. Ina had the same. We went out to the pool around 10:00 and layed around in the hot sunshine, with periodic dips in the large pool. Time seemed to fly as I read my book, and before long, I looked like an overdone lobster….oops! We had an early dinner at the Mongolian Grill, where we both had a chicken stir fry with noodles, and then shared a hot fudge sundae. After returning to the room, I finished my book as we watched television, and played on the computer.

This morning, Wednesday, we went down for breakfast and then up to reception to see about getting on the internet. It is $1.17 per minute or $37 for 24 hours, but they have to be at one time. Each time you log off, you start over again. We are planning on getting on this afternoon and stay on until tomorrow afternoon. We layed around in the room most of the day, and went for dinner around 7:00 pm. I had breaded veal cutlets, with mixed vegetables, and Ina had a Prawn dinner on a best of garlic mashed potatoes. For desert we shared a hot Chocolate Brownie with Cashews and Vanilla Ice Cream, which we shared. We left very comfortable. It had been raining earlier, so is very muggy tonight.
